Yoga asanas and Pranayamas to Relieve your Anxiety and Stress
Yoga postures can help achieve a happy and healthy mind and body. These Asanas can help release tension and negativity from the system if done consistently. In addition to many benefits, asanas help release tension and stress from the body by regulating hormones and increasing endorphins which explain the “yoga high”.
- Note: One most important point to note is that every asana must be performed perfectly so as to achieve maximum benefits. If your body limitations do not allow you to attain the final stage, go for the leading practices to gain strength and after a good practice, you can start performing the final stages of your desired asanas.
Dhanurasana:
In the final stage of Dhanurasana, the body from the head to the knees gets a backward bend like a bow. The legs with the ankle joints held by the hands, go up. The formation of the hands and the below-knee part of the legs looks like a drawn-out bow-string. Therefore, this Asana has got the name Dhanurasana.
VipritaKarni Mudra:
VipritaKarni Mudra is one of the most important ‘upside down’ postures in yogabhyas. We are normally in head up position while standing or sitting except when we lie down or sleep. But in ViparitaKarni Mudra this usual posture is not maintained, instead, we are in the unusual upside-down posture. Hence the name of this posture is Viprita Karni Mudra.
Anuloma-Viloma
Anuloma-Viloma or alternate breathing technique. Pranayamas are super powerful. They directly affect our central nervous system thus helping us regulate our thoughts making us calmer and bringing us peace. Thus it is important to do it correctly.
Practising yoga techniques every day for a few minutes can do wonders for our Physical, Mental and Emotional health. It detoxifies the body and de-stresses the mind, leaving us energetic and full of life. The most important part in doing these exercises is how you do it rather than how much you do it. The quality matters the most. It is of utmost importance that one does it correctly and hence, it is advisable to learn the asanas and meditation under the expert guidance of trained teachers.
